City Attorney Dennis Herrera filed an amicus brief with the U.S. District Court in San Francisco calling Prop 8 a violation of the U.S. constitution.
The high profile lawyers arguing the case, Theodore Olson and David Boies, have also filed paperwork requesting an injunction against Prop 8 to alleviate the ongoing discrimination faced by same-sex couples wishing to marry in California while the legal process goes through.

California is really extraordinary. Besides the fact that is very beautiful, many things happen here at first. The people are very original and inventive, open to new ideas.
The people are but the politicians aren't. Why can't they, for once, do what's right and fair instead of what's safe for them? Silent support without action is no support at all.
